Today, Tuesday, is our last day for the state testing. We had 3 tests last week and the final one today. Most of the students are burned out, but our attendance was pretty outstanding, around 98% of the students came to school for this. I promised my students pizza if every student came to every day of testing. Overall they did pretty well but after the first day I didn't have everyone there. We have about a month and a half left of school, we get out at the end of May. Some teachers are counting the days, but I haven't yet, I am waiting until we are below double digits. As for my class, they are doing o.k., just a little lazy with turning in work. We have a chapter 5 test tomorrow and then one more chapter to go before the end of the year.
Our school also received some new gadgets. The company is called TurningPoint and they have this cool program and different receivers like the ones you see the crowd using on Who Wants To Be a Millionaire (I know I do). Well my department head ask me to find out how to use them and then give a presentation to the 8th grade math team. I am excited about this, though I am not sure everyone in our department will do it. I should be ready by tomorrow, which is the presentation.
Another thing that is up in the air is where I will be teaching next year. Right now I am one of the lowest rungs on the ladder and might get moved to another junior high. I like where I am now, but depending on what other people do, I could be moving to our new junior high called Cedar. Its a very nice school, I just like where I am at now.
Well my kids are almost done testing, I better see what they are up too...
