Gab and I both volunteered to be counselors for our church this summer for junior high camp. Each of us had 9 kids. We both had a great time! My guys and I stayed in a cabin (a racoon came and visited us one night) and Gab and her girls stayed in a yurt (really big hot tent). We had lots of fun. Gab was part of the KGB and I was part of the Interpol. Campers were divided into different groups to compete against each other for points. In the end, the campers that won got a shirt and little bragging rights. Gab's KGB group got first, while my group ended up with 3rd. Lots of fun though! We even got to go paintballin' and Gab is good!

Joke for Mom - hope you can get to read this!
GOD CREATES DOG FOR ADAM & EVE
It is reported that the following addition to the Book of Genesis was discovered in the Dead Sea Scrolls. If authentic, it would shed light on the question, "Where do pets come from?"
And Adam said, "Lord, when I was in the garden, you walked with me every day. Now I do not see you anymore. I am lonesome here and it is difficult for me to remember how much you love me."
And God said, "No problem! I will create a companion for you that will be with you forever and who will be a reflection of my love for you, so that you will know I love you, even when you cannot see me. Regardless of how selfish and childish and unlovable you may be, this new companion will accept you as you are and will love you as I do, in spite of yourself."
And God created a new animal to be a companion for Adam.
And it was a good animal. And God was pleased.
And the new animal was pleased to be with Adam, and he wagged his tail. And Adam said, "But Lord, I have already named all the animals in the Kingdom, and all the good names are taken, and I cannot think of a name for this new animal."
And God said, "No problem! Because I have created this new animal to be a reflection of my love for you, his name will be a reflection of my own name, and you will call him DOG."
And Dog lived with Adam and was a companion to him and to Eve, and loved them. And Adam was comforted.
And God was pleased.
And Dog was content and wagged his tail.
After a while, it came to pass that Adam's guardian angel came to the Lord and said, "Lord, Adam has become filled with pride. He struts and preens like a peacock and believes he is worthy of adoration. Dog has indeed taught him that he is loved, but no one has taught him humility."
And the Lord said, "No problem! I will create for him a companion who will be with him forever and who will see him as he is. The companion will remind him of his limitations, so he will know he is not worthy of adoration."
And God created CAT to be a companion for Adam.
And Cat would not obey Adam.
And when Adam gazed into Cat's eyes, he was reminded that he was not the Supreme Being. And Adam learned humility. And God was pleased. And Adam was greatly improved.
And Cat did not care one way or the other.

Hot in the High Desert
Howdie folks, its been awhile since I wrote anything on this, the wife has been doing all the work. Well it's Saturday and I believe the high for the day (from our car) is 104, nice! We didn't do a lot today, look at some garage sales, books sales, had Mexican food and then went to church.
Pastor Tom is going over marriage and what the Bible has to say about it. I like what he said, he went over parts of Genesis 1, Romans 1, and then a few other epistles. Basically it said that man and woman are equal, just different, designed by God to do different things. God had designed the basics of marriage before the fall of man, and that we as "man" have a tendency to redesign what God created. Good stuff!
We only have a couple weeks till school starts and I have to go by my new school and get everything situated, like my room. I have some cool ideas and will provide photos in the coming weeks to show you all what it looks like. I would love to go off for a couple of days with Gab before school starts but we will have to see.
We also booked flights for Thanksgiving, fly up Sunday and come back Friday (all for $75 bucks thanks to free flights). Hopefully we can catch a blazer game, they will be good.
If any of you like sports and missed the Espy's (ESPN's sports award show) you need to watch it. Justin Timberlake did a really great job, and there were a few spots that Greg Oden showed up, he is a talented fellow.
Well I must go, where I don't know.

Red Rocks concert
Dave and I just got back from a Colorado trip with my mom and Chris. We went out there to see Boston and Styx in concert at Red Rocks Ampitheater. It was awesome! For those of you who have never been there or heard of Boston or Styx, all three were really cool! We don't have many pictures because we couldn't take cameras into the concert, so I'll try to add some other links to see what Red Rocks is like. It's an outdoor ampitheater created from the enormous rocks that are in the area. It's spectacular! We really enjoyed Styx and Boston was good too, but several of the band members were sick, so that kinda stunk. But it was a great trip!
